OK for a nights rest before the airport. A bit run down and tired. The restaurant looked so empty (Friday night) and uninviting that we ate at the pub over the road.
Don't even consider this HotelApart from the very hard working bar and reception staff who where wonderful in every way this Hotel is not worth the money.The gents toilet in the Bar area had a major water leak in the ceiling that was in a terrible state the water bucket unable to take the volume of water coming from the ceiling and the alternative gents toilet seat was lying beside the loo on the floor not a great start to our weekend the room 207 was a box room and in no way justified the 85prpn.the TV didn't work the Heating was dreadful and you could hear everything going by the window on the road outside.the room had no fire instructions on display anywhere and the wall light didn't work when we arrived the shades had holes in them and although the Bathroom was clean the shower curtain had mould markings on it the smoke detector on the ceiling didn't look safe although the wall lights were fixed when we came back the TV wasn't.This weekend was dreadful quite clearly the hotel owners need to sort this place out and quickly the breakfast was Hot it was tasty but the poor receptionist who was on her own serving was struggling to look after those guests who decided to eat.thanks go to her for her determination to get us our food and answer the phone as well.the bar lady was excellent we thank her for her hard work as well .this was the worst experience we have ever had we will not be going back there and finally the car parking is for approx 7 cars tight squeeze at the rear but it's open to use by other non residents of the Hotel.
This hotel is not what is shown in the pictures. It is disgusting dirty, smelly and small and old. The shower head barely let water past the mould, the carpets were sticky, and dust piled on the shades everywhere. The TV had 1 radio channel only and there was no heating in the room. It's a rip off at 60 per night per person
Have only used the bar area. Comfortable seating and a reasonable wine selection. Area could do with cleaning and get rid of tatty old magazines.
Not the greatest experience but I can probably put it down to being an old Hotel. To start the room I was given for the price was very small and facing a main road. Not very quiet and not very warm either, I needed to sleep in my clothes to stay warm. When I woke I found that the shower was not giving hot water so had to waste my time trying to get a hot shower in the morning which took nearly an hour out my day when sorted. The breakfast was a small and did't really set me up for the day at all, really not worth the money I spent on it. In all I felt rather ripped off by my visit. Nothing much to rave about, stick with a modern hotel if you can
